Audi AG has officially become the new owner of Ducati. German luxury car manufacturer wants to be more competitive in MotoGP Ducati 2013.

Ducati reportedly is developing a new engine and chassis for MotoGP 2013. Audi was already aware of the project.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 2012 German MotoGP, Valentino Rossi admitted that he had met with one of the top brass Audi AG. "Audi AG is excited about the development of a new motorcycle to be able to be more competitive," said The Doctor.

"They (Audi AG) would like to develop the project together even though I have not been discussed in detail," added Rossi.

Audi has a lot of money and human resources and how to win a competition. Audi has been able to produce machines with high technology, but has no experience on a motorcycle. "So it took time, I'm sure Audi technologies can be combined with Ducati," added Rossi.
